The SignUp Genius for Apple Butter 2025 is ready to be distributed to our church family for their perusal and to sign up for any of the tasks that they would be willing to assist with.\u00a0 This is a church-wide project and we need everyone\u2019s particpation to make this even successful. <\/span>This sign up is the minimum we think is needed. If it looks full come anyway, we can always use the help.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_cta][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n We will be making less apple butter than previous years. We will be taking orders for apple butter, and we will limit initial orders of 4 quarts or 8 pints per person with those who help make the apple butter orders filled first. The cost is $12 per quart or $5 per pint while you furnishing your new<\/strong> pint jars. Please bring in your ne<\/strong>w<\/strong> pint jars when you come to snit apples on Thursday Oct 23rd additional quantities may be available once we see how much apple butter has not been spoken for. Email Keith at john.k.roberts@comcast.net to place your order.<\/span><\/p>\n Events leading up to the event where a lot of help is needed: This is a church-wide project and we can use the help of everyone, there is something for all ages to help with.<\/p>\n Thursday, October 23rd<\/strong>\u00a0we begin peeling apples at 9:00 AM. While we have peeling machines the manual process of cleaning and quartering the apples ( known as \u2018snitting\u2019 ) is very time consuming and needs a lot of help. If you can\u2019t make the early shift we can use some help later in the day to relieve some who have been working all day. The more help the quicker we finish.<\/p>\n Friday, October 24th<\/strong> we will put up the kettles and canopies over the kettles and at 9:00 AM we will wash the quartered apples and repack them. A good crew of 10-12 people can get this done fairly quickly> Saturday October 25th<\/strong>\u00a0Early, morning we are hoping that the morning crew will come to relieve those who have been stirring all night and to help when the apple butter is ready and we jar up the apple butter and clean up. The job of quarting the apple butter happens pretty fast and we can use fresh hands in the morning hours to help. Apple Butter Schedule<\/h2>\n
At Midnight we will begin to cook the apples and will need 20-30 helpers to stir the apples that will be cooking in the kettles. We need stirrers all night, so if you can stay the night it would be very helpful, the more the merrier and this is a wonderful time of fun and fellowship.<\/p>\n
