Who We Are

Welcome to Burnt Factory Church! We are a traditional independent Methodist Church. We are a church that is experiencing growth and are excited at the wonderful opportunities God is placing at our doorstep. We invite all who are searching, seeking, or wondering about church to come and be a part of our family. For all who may want to explore this thing called faith; we offer an opportunity to come and share in worship. Presently, we offer a traditional Sunday morning worship service at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. with Sunday school meeting at 9:45.

Burnt Factory Church. is a family of believers that are committed to Jesus Christ. We practice what Robert Schnase coined as “The Five Practices of a Fruitful Congregation” in that we are committed to: (1.) Radical hospitality (2.) Passionate worship (3.) Intentional faith development (4.) Risk-taking mission and service and (5.) Extravagant generosity. We are not a perfect place with perfect people for we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. But we are devoted to worshiping and proclaiming the truth, hope, grace, love, and good news of Jesus Christ in that: “Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; and that proves God love for us!” We are glad that you are visiting us and we hope and pray that you will find a bible believing, Christ-based family church. God bless you!

In the early 1800’s, Millbrook Methodist Church occupied the site which is now Burnt Factory Church. The original church was built on land deeded by Jesse Calvert “for a place to preach and espouse the word of God.” Between 1830 and 1850 the community and church named changed to Burnt Factory after a local woolen mill burned down.

The original church was torn down in 1925, and the existing sanctuary was dedicated in 1928. A fellowship hall with Sunday School classes was added in 1969 and a picnic shelter in 1980. In 2016, the sanctuary was expanded and two cottages were added. In 2017, The property across the street was acquired with the vision of creating a Christian themed “Reflection Park” for the enjoyment of all the people.

Our mission is to “Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” Our motto is to “Sharing the love of Christ with all people.” And our unifying scripture is: “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5: 16
